Folkrörelsen Nej till EU (The People’s Movement No to the EU) was founded in 1991 in order to oppose the Swedish accession to the EC/EU. We were one of the major campaigning organisations in the referendum of 2003, when a majority voted against the introduction of the euro.
Our long-term goal is that Sweden withdraws from the EU. The People’s Movement No to the EU is a democratic, anti-racist organisation. We are a non-party organisation and we bring together people from diverse parts of the political spectrum.
The central messages of The People’s Movement No to the EU are:
– Yes to international solidarity!
– Yes to democracy and independence!
– No to the European Union!
